Lady Nira

Here she is, all colored and purdy Her name is Lady Nira and she's another one of the my friends dragon characters from her novel. Terra is also a character in her story, but I was able to have 100% control over Terra's design because she's my character. This is actually the second time I've drawn Nira, but the other one was colored pencil (if you guys want me to post the colored pencil versions of these characters, let me know!). 

The dragon characters in this story have both human and dragon forms, but in some cases the 2 forms can differ significantly. In Nira's case, her human form is very motherly and approachable whereas her dragon form is vicious. In the story, she is among one of the wisest wizards of her time, but she completely and wholly evil and wants nothing but to see the world burn. 

Nira was designed by my friend but she gave some loose guidelines to go off of to draw my own version of her. The info I was given is that she is pink and purple with pure black eyes. I also had an image to go off of because my friend had drawn her, too. I decided to go with a veeeeeery dark, cold purple to emphasize her malevolent nature. I also wanted to go dark because I wanted the pink to pop. I decided to make the pink fade red, because pink on it's own seemed boring. and not very scary/evil XD Her colors kind of remind my Cynder from the Spyro Trilogy a little

In general, I'm pretty happy with this but there are some things I would change. I probably would've done the wings a little differently, like add more folding to make it appear a little more realistic. I also realize just now that I did the frill on her head wrong. She's supposed to have 3 membranes, not 2. Rrrrrrrr. Oh well. In hindsight, I kinda wish I had done a more dynamic pose, or at least something a little different from my last submission. Oh wellz. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it
